Note this is a "live" calendar for a resident at an Assisted Living Facility, It is updated daily prior to 7 am EST.
The calendar represents the Alexa Routines created and...
associated with an Amazon Cube...
connected to the resident's television...
driving the events (Music, Videos, Movies, etc). No video calls are made using the Amazon Cube... Video Calling; Amazon Cube Versus Echo Shows.
Note:
Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner and the 10:30 & 2:00 Activities in Light Blue are not representing Routines.
They are simply events at the Assisted Living Home.
They are included because frequently, routines will display the upcoming events for the resident.
Note:
Calendar events show a beginning and an END time.
In practice routines have no end time. (even if a movie or video ends, the routine does not know or care)
Any event routine is superseded by the following routine start time.
Note:
Events in Tomato RED , are using a subscription service and will only work if you have the said Subscription
Events in Flamingo RED , are using a subscription service but will work subject to Ads.
Click on any Calendar entry below to open it.
Entries associated with a routine will provide the routine' s share link.
Click on the link to import that routine to "your" Alexa App.
Using the device with the Alexa App will directly open your Alexa App.
Using a PC/Laptop browser will display a QR code for the device with the Alexa App to directly open your Alexa App
Your Alexa App will ask you to update the parts in the routine that need to be adjusted to "your" devices.
Echo Shows can be configured such that the Loved One can provide permission per contact to enable Drop In. Although this is a great feature to have and use sparingly, it is much more preferable to set up a scheduled daily or weekly call so as the loved one is not surprised by an unexpected viewer.
Even better, the call can be originated from the loved one to yourself or other family members. This has the added benefit that the loved one can see a reminder pop up on their Echo Show (from the calendar) set to whatever works best. We use a 5 min reminder such as 'Call to Son Dennis' in 5 min.
09:00 0 ED ES Call Son Dennis
09:00 is in military time
0 is for the day of the week (As In NOT 1S, 2M, 3T, 4W, 5T, 6F, 7S)
ED is Every Day as opposed to WD for Weekdays or WE for Weekends
ES is for Echo Show, the device this routine is running against as opposed to a Smart Plug or Smart Light Bulb, a Roku TV or an Amazon Cube
If you follow the above naming convention for all your routines (might be dozens one day)... and have your Alexa app set to list the routines in alphabetical order, I assure you in time... you will be thanking me.
